WHY OUR KIDS PROGRAM?
We have 2 separate kids programs: Muay TINY (4-6 years) & Muay GIANTS (7-12 years).
Our 4 to 6 year old program focuses on basic Muay Thai fundamentals, physical mobility, ANTI-Bullying tactics, and learning to speak up with confidence. Students are also challenged physically through fun engaging games and bringing out their competitive edge at an early stage. This phase prepares them for other sports, and the next stage in our curriculum.
Our 7-12 year old program is broken down into various levels that go above and beyond to teach quality authentic Muay Thai, and more importantly, to touch on our students’ self-awareness, goal-setting, respect, confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills.
Each student is tested daily, per semester, and can qualify for shorts grading depending on their commitment to the program. Our program coordinator and instructor, Kru Carlo has a special way of bringing out the best in his students by offering training that is specifically customized and tailored to each individual’s needs. Students are challenged to expand their mental capabilities as well as their physical and competitive side. Many of his past students have been with him and adapted his teaching methods, and have grown to be a part of the youth assistant program, which has benefited many young athletes in various other sports as a supplement that compliments their training regimen.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A MUAY THAI CLASS?
Typically our schedule offers a range for beginners to advanced training, stressing fundamentals and core values passed down from our lineage through the teachings of Ajahn (master) Suchart. Classes focus on body weight exercises, followed by a series of workouts covering the technique and “weapon” of the day (punches, kicks, elbows, or knees). Students participate in partner drills and partner workouts, and we finish most classes with a group stretch, or a group “finisher,” where everyone motivates one another to complete the final task.
